Frugal Friday: SATC Edition

I thought the girls looks smokin' on the red carpet at the premiere - so here's a dress option for each lady's look in the veign of their character's signature style.

Charlotte

Ruffle tube dress, $39

Miranda

Belted maxi dress, $49

Carrie

Rosy one shoulder, $22.80

Samantha (obvi)

Tiered leopard dress, $22.80

...happy weekend!

Turban.

After seeing Sex and the City last night I thought to myself, "Self, I think you can pull off a colorful turban like Carrie did while bopping around Abu Dhabi." Luckily, I found these. Also, I about died when I spotted Carrie reading my all-time fave book in bed in one scene. Gush.

$32 each

Boudoir.

My next bedroom is going to look like this. Remember! I will recreate this look. I love it that much.

And some more baby blues, here, too.

For BBQ's And The Like.

I'd love to be able to have cafeteria style trays like these to hand out at a bbq. You can load up on hamburgers, potato salad and your drink with these. And they're vintage which makes them cooler. And I'd probably serve spiked lemonade in this poured into these.

Trays, $32 for twelve

Duvet.

I am in the process of doing a "before" and "after" of my bed. I have a hodgepodge of sheets and pillows on it now and I'm looking for a more cohesive look. Though I think I'll be buying this quilt - how adorable is this duvet set from Ikea?

Glasort Kulle, $30

A-door-able.

I love these new doormats from Maine designer Angela Adams. A fun fact: my boyfriend once modeled in one of her catalogs. I would post the photo here but I am certain he would just die.

$45

Cross Body.

I'm in need of a new bag for summer. I like to be hands-free in order to take photos or hold hands with my man. Anyone have any great crossbody bag suggestions? Under $50 only please!

Lulu whipstitch, $26

Fauxny, $38

Suggestions are most appreciated.

Forest.

NYC was a whirlwind. It was mostly work but I did get to see a show and a nice sunset and eat some good korean. Phew.

I am utterly in love with this tablescape from this wedding via OnceWed. If I ever get hitched, I'm definitely going the outdoor/rustic/earthy route. And I definitely love fancy plate settings on a picnic table!

Hi.

I'm EXHAUSTED. I promise to catch up with you all later, k? Boy did I miss you!

I'm going to be in NYC for a few days, so I won't be back until Wednesday with a post. Tears all around. Here's basically what I'll be wearing while I bop around the concrete jungle.

A comfy dress, $13.50

Comfy sneaks, $20

Simple jewelry, $11.84

A cocktail with my best friends while I visit, $4 (roughly)

Grand total: $49.34

Terrain.

I love most things in Terrain's shop.

To Do.

I should do more with my free time. I work a full-time job, freelance for several publications, take my beloved Zumba and pilates classes, try and keep a tidy apartment and on a rare occasion I paint my toenails. But I feel, well, like I don't do NEARLY enough as the rest of you lovely bloggers. I mean, this blogosphere is filled with people that build their own homes, create world class dinners, model gifted clothing items from PR people. Why aren't I cool enough for this?

Here is my current "to do" list taken from much more talented bloggers than me. I am going to copy their ideas and therefore become cooler.

Kelly's crazy amazing lace necklace that she made out of a lace collar.

I am DEFINITELY stealing this idea! Obsessed with the DIY chevron stripes. I have a plain white trunk by our door that is getting this treatment, stat! You are awesome Kristin F. Davis. And you share a name with the actress that plays Charlotte from Sexy and the City. Not bad.

Okay. I'll start with two and see if I can actually check these off. What's on your to do list?

Happy 300th Post To Me.

Do you want to know why I love blogging so much? It becomes a diary of your life. I'm bad at writing things down in a journal but I've become good at keeping notes and sharing stories on my blog. I first began blogging in 2007 over here (it still stands!) and it's amazing that a) I still like the same things, b) I still talk about the same things and c) I've come a long way baby! This post especially made me choke up a little. It was right before I stopped blogging for a bit and it was the weekend I met my lobsterman and my world literally changed overnight. Alright. Enough with the sentimental shizz.

I GUESS what I'm trying to say is, thank you for being a friend.

Cavallini.

Year after year, they hit it out of the park. I love everything new at Cavallini & Co.

Available to purchase here or here.

Reuse.

I love paper products and gift wrap and everything in the stationary category, but sometimes it can be a bit wasteful, especially around the holidays. This reusable fabric gift wrap from Chewing the Cud is a beautiful way to reuse gift wrap but still give in to my obsession.

Check out all the options here, $12 each
