Dictionary.

Such a beautiful book. Featuring over 1,500 engravings that originally graced the pages of Webster's dictionaries in the 19th century, this is total eye candy for designophiles like myself.

I'll Tell Ya What I Want, What I Really Really Want.

I spotted this - and my heart stopped. IS THAT A POLAROID SPICE GIRLS CAMERA?

Hells yea it is. After a bit of research I did find out that they were made in the UK at the height of the Spice Girls pinnacle of coolness. I found one for sale.

Well, I'm obsessed. And once again cursing the stars that I was not born in England.

I Want To Be Her.

...for uh, obvious reasons.

Branch.

Everytime I check out what's new over at Branch Home, I'm positively delighted. It is my go-to place for fabulous gifts.

Draper.

If you haven't read one of Miss Dorothy Draper's books - you're missing out. She's the MOTHER of interior design. Here's some excerpts from Entertaining Is Fun! which teaches you how to be a proper hostess. I love the line drawings.

My Cup of Tea.

Thank you, Pottery Barn Kids, for constructing a purely perfect table lamp. I am buying this immediately. I'll avoid further tea puns for my reader's sake.

More Lovin'.

Sometimes postcards are just way more economical to send. Hey, times are rough. But these Valentine's from CoriKindred are super sweet.

Haiti.

I'm off for a weekend of fun with plans to spend much time with friends before I head back to Maine. On a more somber note, please give all that you can to help bring relief to the crisis in Haiti. Donate here, here or here.

Stars.

I never really noticed starry skies until I moved to Maine. This past summer, once in awhile I’d look up and feel like I was in some pointillist painting – that’s how beautiful and bright it would look. I still have no idea how to spot a constellation, but I definitely can’t see any past the skyscrapers here in Manhattan. Though the skyscrapers tend to look very pretty at night too.

That Made Me Hungry.

Stupid Alec Baldwin!

I'm totally trying this recipe.

It Doesn't Look That Complicated.

Be still my heart Nancy Meyers. Meryl Streep's house in It's Complicated blew me away. Although she wanted a kitchen remodel in the movie, who the hell would want to knock down this? I must find out who the prop stylist was. (Also, Alec Baldwin eating lavender ice cream by the tub made me laugh so hard- HILARIOUS!)

Paint.

We're moving into a brand spankin' new apartment unit, which means, I can't paint. The only good thing is that the gray walls (I LOVE GRAY) are great. There is one accent wall in the living room that's a mix of robin's egg blue and teal. I'm not in love with it but at least it isn't orange (which some of the other units had!) This post from Apartment Therapy is inspiring me to get creative with gray. LOVE the pops of red in that bench.

New Home.

Pretty soon I'll get to send these out. Lobsterman and I found an apartment. I'm most excited about the large closets and window seat in my bedroom. WAHOOOOO! Please send decorating advice.

Hot Dog.

My dear Father got me these bookends for Christmas. I'm madly in love with them and cannot WAIT to find a home for them in our new pad. WHICH, by the way, we will hopefully be signing a lease for tomorow. Wish me luck!

Hearts.

I love Valentine's day only because I love sending mushy cards. You'll be seeing lots of these on the blog in the next few weeks. I apologize in advance.

Not Wowed.

When I found out Martha has a house in Maine, I thought, sweeeeet. But upon first glance, it's ugly. Wicker indoors? Pink and blues? I thought for sure she'd have the New England chic thing down. Instead the pastels are making me gag. Am I wrong?

Headboard.

I love this DIY headboard spotted here, but originally via Martha. I've always liked the painted headboard idea but I'm too afraid I'll mess up. Has anyone tried this before?

Eye Opener.

This is what our kitchen looks like when I leave Lobsterman for an extended period of time. Sigh.

I hope you noticed the note. Ahem.

En Francais, SVP!

Totally discovered this blog via another blog (my memory escapes me!) but I am majorly obsessed with the photos - et la fille. Check it.

Bangs.

I am desperately trying to grow out these ghastly bangs. I loved them at first but then I realized they look like this in photos:

instead of like this:

So now I am going to rely on these:

This improv sess with Russel Brand is amazing.

2010.

I am spent. I had such a great weekend with Lobsterman and our friends. I did a lot of unhealthy eating (not in 2010 dammit!), saw Avatar and sloshed through a snowstorm. I am loving my NYC visit but I miss Maine a ton. I'll get back on track manana with posts.
