the weekend.

i had a busy weekend entertaining a close friend.



some highlights:

hiking for four hours and complaining most of it
getting a flat tire and not knowing how to fix it
waiting over an hour so he could eat a lobster at a shack by the sea
dancing the night away
enjoying extra time together after his flight was canceled, then delayed again

I am playing catch up since my whirlwind reunion weekend. I miss my friends already. I have the best friends.

A Valentine Letter Of Sorts.

One of my dearest friends in the world is getting married this weekend. She's marrying a friend of mine. I introduced them, kinda. Though I can't take any credit for this courtship. It was fate that they found eachother.




There is a wonderful quote I read once, I think it was Hafiz. He said that you should never refuse a friendship, even if nine out of ten bring you nothing, one alone will repay you. I believe this to be true.




I am honored to be this woman's maid of honor. In the highlight reel of my life, her face flashes in it a lot. I'm grateful that she invited me to grab a slice and beer with her over six years ago. I'm grateful she stood by my mistakes, my insecurities, my most cherished events. I'm glad that I've laughed and cried with her all these years. Even though I'm hours away from her now, I can still feel her squeezing my hand on bad days. Having her in my life, makes my life better.





I am so SO very excited to share this coming weekend with you my dear friend. So very excited.

Ah Friends.

Today my friend Jeannine emailed me to let me know I've been "slacking on the blogging." She forgets I have a full-time job and I can't amuse her 24/7. Here's a post just for you J9!

Scenes from a Weekend.

A few weekends ago I had a magical bachelorette and bridal extravaganza with my best friends. One of my dearest friends is getting married and I think we sent her off well. I have the greatest friends in the world and I'm always slightly depressed when a weekend like this ends.











It took us awhile. But we found each other.

Detoxing.

Ladies. I am in detox mode.
I am exhausted, exuberant and happy with how my weekend went. But I'm too tired to blog or even look at photos. Here is a very telling photo taken from my friends cell phone in order to capture how ridiculous I looked.

Invites.

Now that the weekend is almost here, these are the invitations I ordered for the bridal shower and bachelorette party. I used Wedding Paper Divas and they were fabulous. They send proofs, there was tons of promo codes and they came quickly. Since I needed to order so many invitations, this was a cheaper but still GORGEOUS option for invites. I highly recommend.





I will be crying a lot once this weekend is over!

Ode To A BFF.

Tomorrow my best friend in the world arrives. We don't see each other every single day like we used to and now sleepovers are no longer a weekend ritual at the end of every Friday. When I was the new girl in town almost 20 years ago, she introduced herself and showed me where the rabbits in her backyard were buried. We've been inseparable ever since. I CAN'T WAIT to spend the whole weekend with her.







Thank GOD for girlfriends!

Missing.

Though I love living in Maine there are some days where I'd give just about anything to spend a few hours under one roof with my friends.

Happy Birthday to my best friend on earth. She's more than a friend really. She's my soul sistah! Without you in my life, I don't know what I'd be.

Magic.

My absolute favorite people are visiting from NYC this weekend. It has been warm and lovely in Maine but this weekend? It might just snow. It doesn't matter though. I have been counting down their visit since I got here!

Happy Day.

Two of my best friends in the world are arriving today - for a weekend to visit little old me. I have stocked up on wine, cheese and have a list of shops I want to check out with them. I am very, VERY happy.

Where I Left My Heart.

I am headed back to New York City for a few days to see all my great loves (besides my Lobsterman of course): Friends and Tino's Deli in the Bronx. Ohhhh happiness! See ya when I return next week. xo.
