Brooklyn.

I'm headed back to NYC for a relaxing weekend to see friends in a couple weeks. I can't wait to spend some time in Brooklyn - probably the coolest place ever.

Embroidery.

These made me laugh so hard I spewed coffee on my desk. Made by the brilliant Stephanie Tillman.

Origami.

I love "the art of folding" and these origami kits from Land of Nod are totally rad. They might even make my Christmas list.

Maine Artist.

Have any of you ever read books by Dahlov Ipcar? Dahlov was born in NYC but moved to a farm in Maine back in the '30s where she's lived ever since. I find her children's books so beautiful - worthy of framing.

Trois.

Three prints I've had bookmarked for no reason other than I like them a lot.

In Stitches.

How completely adorable are these embroidered hoops by London artists You Are With Me. I really wish I knew how to cross stitch. I tried my hand at it once and I think I need to re-enroll myself in a class.

Prints.

Completely in love with the print shop at Urban Outfitters. Such gems! Here are some favorites.

I am still entertaining guests. Yay for long weekends!

Chi-Town.

This weekend one of my best pals in the world is visiting - flying from Chicago to Maine. I am overjoyed, ecstatic and unable to concentrate until she's in my arms. Have you even been to Chicago? What's your favorite thing there?

Good News.

Friends,

Last week I got some great news. I've landed a dream job. The kind that don't open up too often. I'll be writing for my favorite company. I'm pinching myself.

I just thought I'd share the news with you. I am going to celebrate with friends and good food and probably some booze this weekend. Cheers!

Entry.

I'm trying to piece together a nicer entryway to our apartment...especially now that Lobsterman has made us a beautiful console out of reclaimed wood. I think this would hang oh so nicely over it.

It says "home sweet home" to me, don't you think? How was your weekend? I spent 16 hours in a car but it was worth it to attend a sweet wedding.

And the winner is...

Thanks to those of you who guessed here!

The top shoes were a mere $32 from Fred Flare...and the bottom ones? A staggering $799 by Alexander McQueen! As I wipe the sweat from my brow (keeping that a secret was stressful) I'd like to applause House of Milk for being the winner - though it was very hard to pick the closest since you all pretty much guessed in the same realm of prices. Please send me your email my dahling. You'll be receiving a special present in the mail - and I'll hope you'll blog about it once you receive it! Until then...it's a surprise!

How Am I To Choose?

I love them all. New prints from Blanca Gomez, $30 each

Art Wall.

Though I'm pleased with my gallery of art for now (considering we have a small space) I'd love my living room to have art lined up like this. Beautiful.

Stamps.

I love these new stamp sets that Grace found from Yellow Owl Workshop. I'd love to make my own stationary and party invites with these. I mean, I have the time so my only excuse is sheer laziness.

Keep Calm and Do Something.

Here's the wall above our kitchen table.

Our kitchen can't exactly fit a table - or even a chair for that matter - so this is the divider between the living area and our kitchen. Though we do boast the Keep Calm, Carry On poster - perhaps we should have gotten this one instead.

Dachsie and Pal.

I thought this print was pretty irresistable when I spotted it here. It's especially funny when you're aware of how short dachsies are. I would love to see Watty next to a giraffe.

Good Lord.

Well, yesterday was the first day of Spring. And it was raining. And today it's snowing. Good grief. It's a wonder I even know what month it is with all this crazy weather.

And on a totally unrelated note, how fricken fabulous are these vintage French posters that Christina emailed to me? SO CHEAP! I want a wall of them.

But how to choose?

Uh Oh.

Such a darling print.

I couldn't agree more.

Fixer Upper.

This article in the Times blew my mind. It's about a Fixers Collective. Basically a group of artists get together with broken items and repair them into objects of beauty. I'm no artist but I attempt to be a fixer of things. Loose buttons, undone hems - tattered hearts. Now I'm just being dramatic but read the article here.
